Councillor Sue McFadden
MY COMMITMENT TO YOU
Whether you have a concern with waste collection, snow removal, on-street parking or about a dead tree... I am here for you.
Whether you need help applying for a permit for a home renovation or a permit to park your car on the street overnight... I can help.
Whether you drive, walk, cycle or take public transit and are looking for safe, convenient ways to get to work and back home... I want to make your commute easier.
Whether you are a lifelong Mississauga resident or recently immigrated to our country and want to know what city services are available... let me know what you need.
I am your voice in our city and region. I am your representative.
No concern is too small or too large. Every person, neighbourhood, group or community is just as important to me as any other. I have been here for you. I will be here for you. I have the experience and knowledge to be your advocate. I thank you for your support so that, in turn, I can support you when you need it.
MY EXPERIENCE, PASSIONS AND INTERESTS
It has been my pleasure to serve the residents of Ward 10 as City and Regional Councillor since 2006. Prior to that, I was first elected in 2000 as Trustee for the Peel District School Board, representing what is now Wards 9 and 10. In the most recent municipal election, you - my Ward 10 constituents - gave me a strong mandate to continue serving as your Councillor.. with 77.2% of the vote! Thank you!
Over the years as an elected official, I have served on many committees and boards to set policy and direction aimed at enhancing the wonderful quality of life we enjoy as residents of Canada's 6th largest city. My areas of passion are in public safety, emergency services and inclusivity. I am currently a member of the Peel Police Services Board, Traffic Safety Council (for 18 years), and past board member on Safe City Mississauga. I also chair the Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee.
I am actively involved in the community. I am Past President of the Mississauga-Meadowvale Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Award winner. In 2012 I received the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal for dedication to community service.
I am a life-long learner, graduating from Sheridan College in Marketing, and Ryerson University in Training & Development. I have earned a diploma in the Municipal Administration Program and achieved the Certified Municipal Officer designation. I have also completed my Executive MBA.
Prior to my public service, I worked for Bell Canada for 17 years at the senior management level.
I am a proud resident of Ward 10 since 2006 and have lived in Mississauga for more than 45 years. Together with my husband Dave, I enjoy spending time with our family, especially our four wonderful grandchildren (and two more on the way)!
I do not take this position lightly. You have placed your trust and confidence in me for 18 years and I work hard everyday to earn and maintain that trust.
